Migrating Google Drive to OneDrive for Business

Google said they will cut off the unlimited support storage for non-enterprise customer "Google is Killing Unlimited Drive Storage for Non-Enterprise Users | PetaPixel" . So if you are the user of the Google Drive is a good indication you should move from the Google Drive to another platform. One of the promised platforms is Office 365. This because:

  • If you are academic, NGO, and SMB. The Microsoft 365 subscription is really cost effective compared with 20$ / month for google drive.
  • It has a great integration with Microsoft Office
  • It well integrated with Windows 11 and it has less footprint than the others.

The problem is how to migrate your storage from Google Drive to OneDrive for Business easily. This article will

Solution A. Sync with Your Desktop

The drawback of this solution is you should make sure that your PC is turn-on. It is a good solution if you want to sync plus having a local backup.

Solution B. Sync with All way Sync

This solution is great if you have a quick connection. You can download Free File Synchronization, Backup, Data Replication, PC Sync Software, Freeware, File Sync, Data Synchronization Software | Allway Sync – File Synchronization That Works. And start to Sync between Google Drive and OneDrive for Business. The drawback is you should but additional license if you need a pro license.

Solution C. Sync with Multcloud

This is my preferred solution. But you should be careful because you data can be read by the third party. If you use this service be sure to delete the permission after you migrate your content. You can see the video tutorial here.
