Copilot Missing in Office

If you have Microsoft 365 copilot subscription, but the copilot icon is missing, this post is right for you. You can troubleshoot why the Copilot doesn't exist.

  • You dont have Copilot license. If you are using Copilot Pro or free copilot version, you may need to understand the copilot in your Office will not available.
  • You login in different account. you need to make sure that the account is login with your proper office. If you have two accounts Office 365 personal and Office 365 for organization, you should have two separated licenses.
  • You store your office file in OneDrive that doesn't have Copilot subscription. For example, you have a copilot subscription in your personal account, and you store the file in OneDrive in your work account the copilot won't work.
So here are the tips to make sure you use your copilot
  • login with your Office 365 with Copilot, update your license Update License Button - Microsoft Support
  • start your work document in OneDrive that has Copilot license, use that and after that move the document into the proper destination
  • find the cheapest office 365 with copilot such as Microsoft 365 Personal
The bad news is the copilot can only understand the email that related with the subscription. in Outlook, you can't use another email for copilot to work only the subscription email.
